Nature uses color for good reasons,
the human eye doesn't like to see only black and white and
documents should not be scanned only in gray scales. There
is always the same target:

WALTHER transferred this idea in developing
the first high performance desktop scanner with 24 Bit optical
color cameras. The result is a powerful system, scanning in
color with a speed of up to 240 dpm for 6" items on the base
of the proven and reliable HLS transport system. This means
the other features of the WALTHER scanners like code line
optical and magnetical reading, endorsing and sorting are
also available in perfect quality.
